“汉语桥”世界大、中、小学学生中文比赛盐湖城预赛区通知

好消息!“汉语桥”世界大、中、小学学生中文比赛今年将在盐湖城设立预赛区了!由盐湖城华助中心承办,犹他东方中文学校协办的“汉语桥”世界大、中、小学学生中文比赛盐湖城预赛区的比赛将于2026年3至4月在盐湖城举行,欢迎犹他各地大学、中学、小学热爱中文学习的学生们踊跃报名参赛。参赛免费,具体如下:

一、活动目的

为学习中文的犹他各年龄段学生提供一个展示中文能力的舞台和互相学习与交流的平台,激励其学习中文的热情和兴趣,增进其对中文和中华文化的理解。

二、比赛主题

小学组:快乐中文
中学组:追梦中文,不负韶华
大学组:天下一家

三:参赛对象

小学组:犹他州各地本人及父母母语非中文的小学在读生。
中学组:犹他州各地本人及父母母语非中文的初中或高中在读生。
大学组:犹他州各地本人及父母母语非中文的大学在读生。

四、比赛内容

小学组: 中文语言能力(比重不少于70%)、中华文化技能
中学组:中文语言能力(比重不少于70%)、中国国情知识、中华文化技能
大学组:中文语言能力(比重不少于70%)、中国国情知识、中华文化技能

中文语言能力:包括中文听、说、读、写能力和实际运用能力。

中国国情知识:包括对中国地理、历史、经济、文化等方面的了解;参赛选手可进入“汉语桥”历届试题题库平台(http://bridge.chinese.cn/test)进行试题练习。

中华文化技能,包括中国歌舞、传统器乐、戏曲、书法、绘画、武术等,可自由选择一项或两项予以展示。

五、比赛形式与流程

盐湖城预赛区的比赛分预赛与决赛两个阶段。

预赛阶段:参赛者于2026年3月7日以内按要求将参赛视频和相关材料发至犹他预赛区组委会(具体要求请参见:https://utahccc.org/XXX);评委组将于3月14日以内,从三个赛事组别中每组选拔10位优胜者进入预赛区的决赛。

决赛阶段:盐湖城预赛区的决赛将于2026年4月11日(星期六)上午10点30分至下午5点在Whitmore Library 楼下大会议室举行 (地址:2197 Fort Union Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121)。每组10位优胜者于2026年4月11日(星期六)在盐湖城市现场参赛,比赛形式包括现场问答、才艺展示、和中学、大学组的简短演讲等。评委组将现场从三个赛事组别中每组评选出前三名优胜者。随后,将于现场举行颁奖仪式。

不论是否进入决赛,所有参加预赛的选手都将获颁参赛证书;各组别决赛的前三名优胜者将获颁获奖证书;各组别的第一名优胜者将获推荐参加在中国驻洛杉矶总领事馆举行的领区大赛。组委会邀请并欢迎所有参加预赛的选手及其家长、老师和社区各界朋友届时现场观赛、助兴。

Announcement of the Salt Lake City Preliminary Competition of the "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition

Good news! The prestigious "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students is coming to Salt Lake City this year! The Salt Lake City Preliminary Competition of the "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Students, held by the Utah Chinese Civic Center, and assisted by the Oriental Chinese School in Salt Lake City, will take place in Salt Lake City in March and April this year. Chinese learners in elementary schools, junior high or high schools, and colleges in Utah are all invited and welcome to participate in this no-entrance-fee competition.

Participants will compete in three respective groups: 1. Elementary School Students, 2. Junior High & High School Students, and 3. College Students.

A. Event Purpose:

To provide a platform for Chinese learners to showcase their Chinese proficiency and exchange learning experiences, to encourage interest and enthusiasm in Chinese learning, and to promote understanding of the Chinese language and Chinese culture.

B. Event Themes

1. Elementary School Group: Joy & Fun in Chinese
2. Jr. High & High School Group: Fly High with Chinese
3. College Group: One World, One Family

C. Who May Compete

1. Elementary School Group: any Utah elementary school student whose native language is not Chinese and who does not have a parent with Chinese as native language
2. Jr. High & High School Group: any Utah junior high or high school student whose native language is not Chinese and who does not have a parent with Chinese as native language
3. College Group: any Utah college student whose native language is not Chinese and who does not have a parent with Chinese as native language

D. Competition Focus

1. Elementary School Group: (1) Chinese language proficiency (no less than 70%), (2) Chinese cultural skills
2. Jr. High & High School Group: (1) Chinese language proficiency (no less than 70%), (2) Basic knowledge of China, (3) Chinese cultural skills
3. College Group: (1) Chinese language proficiency (no less than 70%), (2) Basic knowledge of China, (3) Chinese cultural skills

Chinese language proficiency: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and practical application skills.

Basic knowledge of China: a basic understanding of China’s geography, history, economy, and culture. Participants may reference past-question banks at http://bridge.chinese.cn/test.

Chinese cultural skills: Chinese singing and dancing, Chinese traditional musical instruments, Chinese opera, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese painting, and Chinese martial arts. (Each participant may choose to demonstrate in one or two areas.)

E. Competition Format & Procedures

The Salt Lake City Preliminary Competition is divided into two stages:

Stage 1: Participants submit competing video and accompanying materials to the organizing committee no later than March 7 (please go to https://utahccc.org/XXX for specific requirements). The Judges will select 10 winners from each of the three competing groups (elementary, junior high & high, college). These winners will then enter the next stage of competition.

Stage 2: This in-person stage of the competition will be held at the Meeting Room of the Whitmore Library (located at 2197 Fort Union Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121) from 10:30am to 5:00pm on April 11, 2026. The 10 winners from each of the three competing groups will compete on site then. The format of this stage will include onsite questions and answers, onsite skill demonstrations, and in cases of the junior high & high group and the college group, onsite short speeches. The Judges will select 3 final winners from each of the competing groups on site, and an award ceremony will immediately follow.

Whether selected to compete in Stage 2 or not, all participants will be issued a competition-participation certificate at the award ceremony; in addition, the three final winners from each group will be issued an award certificate, and the top winner in each group will be recommended to the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles for invitation to the multi-state competition to be held at the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles.

The organizing committee sincerely invites all participants, their teachers and family members, and friends in the community to observe the Stage 2 competition and to cheer up its participants on April 11.
